A chance to dance, a couple of magical nights, and some crafty offerings!

This weekend brings another edition of Swingshift and the Stars to town…or maybe you would like a more natural stargazing experience? There's a couple of nights of magic at the Old Town Playhouse, and a pair of craft shows with a chance to get a jump on holiday shopping!

Swingshift and the Stars
Friday, November 18th, 6:30-10pm
This is a dance-off for charity, with great live music! Guests will be entertained by celebrity couple dances, plus the sounds of "Swingshift-Rebooted". You can vote for your favorite couples though the evening with a donation to their charity, plus even enjoy free lessons and plenty of chances to dance all night long!  
 
Friday Night No Lights at the Highlands
Friday, November 18th, 10pm
Meet at the Headlands entrance for a guided tour through the woods to the viewing area to watch falling stars from the Leonid meteor shower and hear tales and facts about the night sky. Guests are encouraged to dress warmly, wear comfortable shoes, and bring lanterns to light the way. This event is free. Get more info at http:///www.midarkskypark.org/
 
Ben Whiting in "Tricks Against Humanity"
Friday and Saturday, Nov. 18th & 19th, 7:30pm Old Town Playhouse
Called "A Magic and Mind Reading Show for Horrible People", this evening of illusions is based on games and TV shows from the 80's and 90's through today. Tickets are $20 at oldtownplayhouse.com
 
Holiday Crafts Show at the Emmet County Fairgrounds
Saturday, November 19th, 9-4pm
Entry fee is 2$ or a non-perishable food item for Brother Dan's Food Pantry. Dozens of vendors will have unique items on display and for sale, and food concessions will also be available through the event.
 
Merry Makers Marketplace at the Crooked Tree Arts Center Traverse City
November 18th 6-9pm,  and 19th, 10am to 4pm
This 2 day event features 30 artists and artisans offering fine art, handcrafted gifts and holiday decor. Admission is free.
