Grieving on Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is a wonderful day to honor the moms in our life.  We give flowers and gifts, take our favorite mothers out for dinner, and give them a break.
For some people, Mother’s Day is a very difficult day. Not all mothers are around to honor. I’m blessed that my mom is still with us but this year Mother’s Day falls on the anniversary of my sister’s death so it will be a very difficult time.
We lost my sister just last year. It’s been tough on all of us, but extremely difficult for my mom. In fact I don’t know if we will even celebrate Sunday as Mother’s Day.
If you’ve lost your mom, or any loved one, certain days of the year can be especially difficult. How do you deal with the grief, even if it’s been a year, two years, or 10 years? One thing is for certain, it doesn’t go away. It can however, be managed.  Here is a great blog post that helped me this week as I thought about the loss of my sister.
