How to be exceptionally likable

We all want to be liked. Everyone wants to be that woman you know who just draws people in. She’s the mom who walks in the room and everyone speaks to her, she’s the person in your company who gets more face time with the boss, and who everyone strives to be.
I have friends and relatives, and I have even myself said “why don’t I have more friends?”  or “why can’t I be like so and so?” Well up until recently, most people believed they couldn’t change their situation. It was something you were born with or just had or you didn’t. 

Now researchers say that’s not true at all. We all have the ability to become more likable. If you feel like you don’t have a great group of friends, or people just aren’t drawn to you the way you want them to be, there are some really small and easy things you can do to change that. It’s connected to your emotional intelligence (EQ.
In a study conducted at UCLA, subjects rated over 500 adjectives based on their perceived significance to likability. The top-rated adjectives had nothing to do with being gregarious, intelligent, or attractive (innate characteristics). Instead, the top adjectives were sincerity, transparency, and capacity for understanding (another person).
