Parades, the Polar Express, and a Live Nativity!

The holiday season is officially here this weekend, and towns all over Northern Michigan are getting in the spirit! There’s the Charlevoix holiday parade, and a live nativity in Boyne City on Friday…you can catch a free showing of the Polar Express in Suttons Bay Saturday afternoon, then Sunday night, light up your holiday with the big parade in Petoskey, or the lighting of the big tree at the Village at Grand Traverse Commons!
 
Charlevoix Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting Celebration, Friday, Nov.26th, 3-6:30pm Downtown Charlevoix
Bring the little ones downtown from 3-5 for holiday crafts and photos with Santa. The holiday parade is at 5:30 followed by the tree lighting at 6pm.
 
Live Nativity in Boyne City, Friday, November 26th, 5-8pm, Coldwell-Banker parking lot
Complimentary chili/soups, hot dogs, cookies, hot cocoa & coffee. Live camel, donkey, goats, baby cows & sheep, & food for the kids to feed the animals. Stiggs will have complimentary 6 oz. pours available. 100% of Coldwell Banker donations benefit Charlevoix Humane Society. 100% of Stiggs Brewery donations benefit “Stiggs Feed A Friend.”
 
Free Showing of “The Polar Express” at the Bay Theatre in Suttons Bay, Saturday, November 27th, 1:30pm
Bring the little ones to see this animated holiday classic on the big screen. Then stay to do a little holiday shopping in the unique village of Suttons Bay for Small Town Saturday!
 
Light Up the Night-Holiday Parade Downtown Petoskey, Saturday, November 27th, 6pm
Floats, walkers, trucks, the Petoskey High School Marching Band & Steel Drum Bands, & Santa will make their way from Petoskey High School to downtown. Bring the little ones to Pennsylvania Park to experience Gingerbread Lane. Family-friendly activities include live music by the Northern Michigan Chorale, hot cocoa, a family photo backdrop, & cookie decorating from 5–6pm.
 
The Village Tree Lighting, Saturday, November 27th, 6pm, at the Village at Grand Traverse Commons
Enjoy hot chocolate and Christmas music while awaiting the big countdown to flip the switch and light up the holiday tree at the historic village at Grand Traverse Commons!
