Over the weekend, I sat through several graduation speeches and had this article about giving speeches from the book "How to Write and Give a Good Speech. Thought I'd pass it along!
Let is more - Focus your message, the more you put in, the less they'll remember.
Know your audience - Taylor your speech to the people you are talking to.
Choose interesting research - Put your data in everyday language.
Write it down - Put your thoughts on paper, know the opening, middle and end.
Practice, without stopping - Inexperienced speakers worry about starting off strong, and just skim over the rest. Practice will help make your speech perfect!
