North Central Michigan College

North Central Michigan College will present a summer lecture featuring Canadian conservationist Joanie McGuffin on Wednesday, August 21 from 8:30 – 10 a.m. in the gym in the Student and Community Resource Center. Cost is $10 and includes breakfast.

Joanie McGuffin is one of the founders of the Lake Superior Watershed Conservancy (LSWC). She is the author of 8 books with her photographer chronicling her long distance paddling voyages on Lake Superior.

She helped launch a program Canoes for Conservation, which is an ecological and cultural heritage connection to the world’s largest freshwater lake that engages people and their communities.
