Promote the Vote, Play a little Poker, Plus enjoy Movies, Art and Live Music!

This month gives you a chance to get creative in an effort to get out the vote in Grand Traverse County. You can work on collecting the best poker hand with fall fun around Charlevoix, then enjoy a great movie at the ballpark in TC! On Saturday, you can shop great Arts & Crafts at the Village, and on Sunday, the Central Neighborhood comes alive with free local music!
 
Create an “I Voted” Sticker design!
Through September 28th

The Traverse City Clerk’s Office is searching for new designs for its “I voted” stickers.  The Contest is open to residents in Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Benzie, Antrim, or Kalkaska counties. The winning design will be printed as stickers and digitally distributed to voters on Election Day. Artists are invited to submit designs through September 28th. Then, a panel of judges will  select three finalists.  A public vote to select a winner of the three finalists will run October 4 – 11, 2020.  The winning artist will receive $500 and be announced on October 12th. Charlevoix Applefest Poker Run
Through October 12th
In lieu of AppleFest, this event is a new way to support area orchards while enjoying some fall fun! Register at www.charlevoix.org, then plan 7 stops before October 12th. At each location, players will receive a card, in an effort to create the best poker hand. Best hand wins $200! Entry is $25 to benefit Apple Fest. Card stops include the Charlevoix Chamber, Charlevoix Farmers Market, Friske Orchards, Royal Farms, King Orchards, Interwater Farmers and Farmer Whites.
 
 
“Films on the Field” at Turtle Creek Stadium
September 17th-19th
Come watch a movie at Turtle Creek Stadium! A limited number of tickets will be sold to meet social distancing guidelines. Moviegoers will purchase a seating area for just $50 in advance which will allow them up to a maximum of six people within a 12’ x 12’ area on the field. Seating for each group will be a defined area where people will have room to distance while enjoying the movie. All movies start at 8:00pm and the gates open at 7:30pm. Concessions will be available for purchase.

Friday, Sept. 18 – Trolls World Tour
Saturday, Sept. 19 – Lion King (2019)

Outdoor Craft and Vendor Show
Saturday, September 19th, 10am-3pm, The Village in Traverse City
Dozens of local artists and crafters will be on hand with their works on display and for sale. Mask will be required and social distancing rules followed throughout the event. Admission is free! Learn more here.
 
 
Porchfest 2020
Sunday, September 20th, 1-5pm, Central Neighborhood Historic District, Traverse City
Come stroll through the Central Neighborhood and enjoy music and performances throughout the afternoon on the porches of the area’s old historic homes. These groups are performing “Pro Bono” to promote the value of community spirit in downtown Traverse City.  Get details on Facebook here.
