Meow, I’m Merry, the 11-month-old ray of sunshine with a heart as warm as my buff and white coat! Life’s a joyful journey, and I’m here to share it with you. My fur is a soft embrace, inviting you into a world of snuggles and purrs. Though I’m still young, I’ve already learned the value of companionship and the comfort of a loving home. Seeking a human confidant for shared sunlit afternoons, gentle chin scratches, and the joy of mutual understanding. If you’re ready for a lifetime of feline friendship and cozy moments, adopt me, Merry – your loving and loyal companion awaits!

Hi there, I’m Arnie! My curious nature keeps me on my toes, sniffing out all the world’s secrets. I’m smart too! Because of my breed I like having a job to do and being kept busy. I do herd my people, so make sure you’re ready for a herding breed! I’ve got a knack for learning new tricks. I also love playtime, and I’ve got energy to spare. I’m also a loyal friend who loves nothing more than to cuddle up after a day of fun. I’ve got a lot of love to give and I’m looking for someone special to share it with. I can be nervous of men but have potential with time and patience. I’m looking for a home with no cats and mature kids 16 or older. I do have potential with other dogs. Adopt me and let’s start our journey together!

Cherryland Humane Society is a private, no kill animal shelter servicing Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties. We are an independent, 501-C, non profit organization. CHS is dependent on donations, fundraising activities, estates, planned giving, memorials and occasional grants for operation. Visit our available pets online at cherrylandhumane.org

Max was found alone on an abandoned pontoon boat near Lake Ann. He shares a TC Paw foster home with three kittens we rescued from a hoarding situation. When he arrived, he was standoffish, but he came out of his shell, and now he’s a wonderful, laid-back, inquisitive, playful cat who loves people. He watches the other kittens and then joins in, and he can play by himself too. The top of the cat tower is a favorite place. He gets in a lot of circus cat poses. Max likes to be brushed and will even allow his nails to be trimmed. He loves to sit in your lap while you pet him and listen to his beautiful purr. He has been around kids, and he’s great. He’ll do well with other cats or as a single cat companion to a lucky owner. Max lives with another foster kitten Sophie, whose company he really enjoys.

TC Paw Cat Rescue was formed in the Spring of 2023 after the well-known northern Michigan rescue group AC PAW retired their rescue program for cats and dogs. Their mission is helping cats and kittens in the greater Traverse City region through rescue, spay/neuter, fostering, adoption, education and community collaboration.

This older fella is Blake. Blake found his way to CAHS as a stray so we don’t have an exact age or back story. What we do know is that Blake is about as laid back as they come and loves everyone he meets, especially kids! Blake LOVES to be outdoors lounging in the sunshine. Once outside this guy goes from little old man to a spunky teenager in minutes! He walks very well on a leash as well. We believe he is potty trained as he keeps his kennel very clean, we definitely think he has lived in a home in the past. Blake doesn’t seem to mind other dogs and we think he would do well with cats. He has been neutered, microchipped and updated on a vaccines. Stop by and meet this sweetheart today!

The Charlevoix Human Society’s mission is to practice and promote the principle that every life is precious. As such, we are committed to the highest principles of humane care and professional treatment of injured, ill, neglected or abused animals. For more information on pets that are available for adoption or to donate, visit the shelter at 614 Beardsley Street in Boyne City or online at www.charlevoixhumane.org

Hi there! My name is Archie. I originally hail from Detroit and have enjoyed the more laid-back lifestyle of this northern life. Does that make me a Fudgie? I don’t know, but what I do know is that I would love to find a home up north where I can run, explore, and maybe even go for a hike! I am a well-behaved boy with some extra energy I will need to expend on daily walks, otherwise I get a little antsy at home with nothing to do. When I arrived in Northern Michigan, I had to be treated for Heartworm Disease. I went through that treatment, and the doctors gave me a clean bill of health. I am now vaccinated, neutered, and up to date on my heartworm medication. Go me! The shelter loves to play this game they call ‘guess my breed,’ and they have it narrowed down to German Shepherd, but I’m going to keep them guessing on what else. I LOVE treats and will be the bestest boy for a biscuit. Any training worries are out the window on me because I am highly food motivated. That said, I still need some work on my house training since I haven’t had the chance to really practice in a home. If you would give me the time to learn I am certain I can nail that! Otherwise, I love it here, but I’m kinda tired of the same ole routine every day. If you want to come take me for a walk (or maybe even take me home) that would be awesome!! Come visit me from 10am to 6pm, Tuesday through Saturday. I’ll be here waiting for you!!

From Cheboygan County Humane Society

Brody is a 4-year-old male Pitbull mix. Brody is a sweet boy that can be a bit shy, reserved and nervous. Brody does not fully understand his size, he tends to jump and he can be loud but he does not do it with purpose. Brody just wants love and attention. Brody needs someone who can help him gain his confidence back with some patience and compassion. He was dealt a bad card in life, and he would like to find his forever home with someone who will have as much love for him as he will have for you! He does prefer to be the only pet in the house, and he has been around children before and done well with them, but they must understand his boundaries. He is neutered, micro-chipped and up to date on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $150. If you are interested in Brody, please take the time to learn his history and understand why he is the way that he is!

Please visit their website at cheboyganhumanesociety.org. Or stop by the shelter at 1535 Hackleburg Road, Cheboygan. Call 231-238-8221 for more information. Shelter hours are Mon-Fri 9-4pm and Saturday noon-4pm.
