Spring Break Fun for Everyone!

 This weekend starts with a great time for the kids at the Great Lakes Children’s Museum, and continues with a fabulous night 0f Swing Music in Petoskey. Saturday you can learn all about making maple syrup in Bellaire, or bowl down Main Street in Harbor Springs. And on Sunday, it’s another great show at Sleders in Traverse City!
 
Spring Break-Discover Science, Earth and Space, Friday, March 29th, 11am-3pm
Explore and imagine what the surface of the sun might be like! Find out how the Earth is changing. Imagine what extraterrestrial life might be like.  Engaging and entertaining activities will introduce kids and their parents to the ongoing research happening now at NASA. This activity is free with regular museum admission. Learn more at greatlakeskids.org.
 
Up North Big Band at Red Sky Stage, Petoskey, Friday, March 29th, 7-10pm
Enjoy 30’s and 40’s swing and Big Band dancing. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 students with ID at the door. Get details at redskystage.com
 
 
Tapping Maple Trees at the Grass River Natural Area, Saturday, March 30th, 11am
Discover the art of tapping maple trees, using traditional and modern methods. You will learn what equipment you need for the process and how to do it at home. Admission is $5. Learn more at grassriver.org
 
 
Bowl on Main Street, Harbor Springs, Saturday, March 30th, noon-2pm
If you’re one of the few left in town during Spring Break, come participate in this fun activity. Kids of all ages can try for a strike right on Main Street. Held at the intersection of State and Main, by Johan’s.
 
 
Bill Staines at Sleders Family Tavern, Sunday, March 31st, 4pm
This singer/songwriter mixes in traditional tunes with his own contemporary folk ballads. Tickets are $20 in Advance, $25 at the door. Get yours by calling 947-9213.
