Official Contest Rules for WLXT (Lite 96.3) – Petoskey, Michigan
These are the general contest rules that apply to all contests, promotions, and giveaways conducted by WLXT (96.3 FM), unless specific rules are announced for a particular contest. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these rules and the decisions of station management, which are final and binding in all respects.
- Sponsor
The sponsor of all contests is MacDonald Garber Broadcasting, Inc., doing business as WLXT (Lite 96), located at 1391 Lears Road, Petoskey, MI 49770.
- Eligibility
- Contests are open to legal residents of the WLXT (and WLXV, when applicable) listening area who are at least 18 years of age at the time of entry, unless a specific contest states a different age requirement.
- Employees of MacDonald Garber Broadcasting, Inc., its parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and their immediate family members (spouse, parents, siblings, children) and household members are not eligible.
- Winners of any WLXT contest are limited to one (1) win per household every 90 days, unless otherwise specified for a particular promotion.
- Some contests may have additional eligibility restrictions (e.g., residency, age, or possession of a valid driver’s license). These will be announced at the time of the contest.
- No Purchase Necessary
No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win. A purchase will not increase your chances of winning. Contests are void where prohibited by law.
- How to Enter / How to Win
Entry methods and winner selection will be announced for each specific contest (e.g., call-in to win, text-to-win, online entry, social media, etc.).
- For call-in contests: Only calls to the announced contest line will be accepted. The station is not responsible for disconnected, busy, or dropped calls.
- All entries must be received during the announced entry period. Late entries are invalid.
- Entries become the property of the station and will not be returned.
- Prize(s)
- Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash, unless otherwise stated.
- The station reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
- Winners are solely responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local taxes, as well as any other costs or fees associated with claiming or using the prize.
- For prizes valued at $600 or more, winners must provide their Social Security Number or Tax ID for IRS reporting purposes (a 1099 form will be issued).
- The station makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the safety, condition, or fitness of any prize.
- Winner Notification and Claiming Prizes
- Winners will be notified by phone, email, or on-air, using the contact information provided at entry.
- Winners must claim their prize in person at the WLXT studio (or as otherwise directed) within 30 days of notification (or by the date specified for time-sensitive prizes such as event tickets).
- A valid government-issued photo ID is required to claim any prize. Winners may also be required to sign a liability/publicity release.
- Failure to claim the prize within the required time or to provide required documentation will result in forfeiture of the prize.
- If a winner is unreachable or ineligible, an alternate winner may be selected.
- Publicity
By entering and winning, participants grant WLXT and its sponsors the right to use their name, voice, likeness, photograph, and biographical information for promotional and marketing purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.
- Limitations of Liability
- WLXT, its sponsors, and affiliated companies are not responsible for: lost, late, stolen, incomplete, or misdirected entries; technical failures; or any damage to participants’ equipment.
- The station is not liable for injuries, losses, or damages of any kind resulting from participation in the contest or use of any prize.
- The station reserves the right to cancel, modify, or suspend any contest due to circumstances beyond its control (including acts of God, technical issues, or tampering).
- General Conditions
- All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.
- Station management reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, violates these rules, or acts in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner.
- These rules may be amended at any time by the station. Continued participation constitutes acceptance of any changes.
- For a copy of these rules or a list of winners, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to: WLXT Contest Rules/Winners List, 2095 US 131 South, Petoskey, MI 49770. Requests must be received within 60 days after the contest ends.
