Is it just me, or is summer flying by?! I had a blast at the National Cherry Festival last week...the crowds, the events, the fun! If you didn't get a chance to attend, check out the photos on our facebook page.
We talked to Kit Hinz from the American Red Cross this morning about getting your family prepared for emergencies. She suggested the number one thing you need to do is make sure your family knows what to do! Where would you meet if you had to get out of your house in a hurry? Do you keep a kit handy with flashlight, water, non-perishables, etc? If you missed it, there is a check list you can download from their website at www.nwmiredcross.org and don't forget they have disaster preparedness training available as well as other volunteering opportunities.
Gearing up for this the Traverse City Lip Dub this Sunday (July 17th)!! I am so looking forward to helping out. I am co-assistant directing (with Clover Keyes) on the corner of Cass & Front Street. You are all invited to be a part of the filming, just show up at the Open Space at 1:30 for instructions. Just be aware that it supposed to be hot Sunday, and it's going to take between 2-4 hours (with downtime between shots to re-set). So bring water, sunscreen, something to read or do while not filming. You can join my section along with our sister station KHQ, or you can be part of the Open Space group.
Let me know if you have any questions about that or anything else I can help with by sending me an email: firstname.lastname@example.org
