Happy Thursday!
More info for National Stop Bullying Week - Signs that your child may be getting bullied:
* Withdrawl
* Loss of friends
* A drop in grades
* A Loss of interest in activities they previously enjoyed
* Torn clothing
* Unexplained brusies
* A Need for extra money or supplies
If you think your child may be getting bullied, or they tell you they are, talk to their teacher about it. If the teacher doesn't act, talk to the principal. Teach them nonviolent ways to deal with bullies, like walking away, playing with friends or talking it out.
Thank you to Adair Correll for coming in today and filling us in on the Great Indoor Folk Festival. If you missed it, the event is going on Sunday, Feb. 13 from noon-5:30 in Building 50 at Grand Traverse Commons in Traverse City. It's a free event with over 50 musicians performing throughout the day.
Thanks also to Miriam Pico for coming in to talk about her CD release party for "I Am Myself" and giving us a sneak preview of the music. You can hear more at the party Friday, Feb 11 starting at 7pm at Immaculate Conception School in Traverse City. Miriam is also asking that you bring food, toiletries or diapers to be donated to local food pantries.
Hope you have a great day!
