Saturday is a great chance to set your child up for this year’s music program, or, catch live music food and fun in Lake Leelanau! Saturday night you can view the stars at Sleeping Bear, and Sunday, stroll through TC’s Central Neighborhood and support local music!
 
“Tuesdays With Morrie” at the Great Lakes Center for the Arts,                                                                                      September 9th & 10th, 8pm, and September 11th, 3pm
Based on the best-selling memoir, “Tuesdays with Morrie” live on stage, is the story of Mitch Albom, a hard-driving sportswriter, & Morrie Schwartz, his former college professor. Tickets are $37-$77…get yours here.
 
TC Music Boosters Used Instrument Sale, Saturday, September 10th, TC West Middle School
Drop off instruments to sell between 9-11:30am, and return between 4-5pm to pick up your check or your unsold instrument. If you would like to buy an instrument, shop from 1-4pm. TC Music Boosters keeps 15% of all sales to fund student scholarships & music classroom mini-grants.
 
Lake Leelanau Street Fair, Saturday, September 10th, 11am-6pm
Come down to Main and Meinrad streets in Lake Leelanau for a day of arts & crafts, live music and food vendors, kids activities, street performers and much more.
 
Find Your Park After Dark: Star Party at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore,                                                    Saturday, September 10th, 8-10pm
Come out to the Sleeping Bear Dune Climb to view the Harvest Moon! Drop-in telescope & information stations will be available for you to visit at your leisure. Get details at gtastro.org
 
4th Annual Porchfest, Sunday, September 11th, 1-5pm, Central Neighborhood, Traverse City
Hosted by the Central Neighborhood Association. This is a free outside event showcasing local musicians performing on porches throughout the neighborhood. Musicians include Silver Creek Revival, The Timebombs, Jazz Cabbage, Wild Sullys, Protea, & many others. Schedules available at Crooked Tree Arts Center, TC.
