Ready for all things Asparagus!? The Asparagus Festival in Empire is this Saturday. Lots of incredible local asparagus eats, great music, and fun activities. The “Kick-yer-Assparagus 5K Fun Run/Walk starts at 10am. The Recipe contest will start at noon at the Township Hall on Front St. Asparagus East with food vendors, local breweries, and live music will start at noon… and the Ode to Asparagus Poetry Contest will be at the Glen Lake Library. If you ain’t ‘fraid of no ghost, then perhaps you’ll enjoy Ghostbusters Day at the Cherry Bowl Drive in this Saturday, starting at 1:00pm. Stop by and see the Ectomobiles, Ghostbusters, other geeky cars and movie characters and so much more. Donations and food collection to benefit Benzie Area Christian Neighbors food pantries.

Looking for that perfect gift? Stop by the “Made in Cheboygan” craft shows at Washington Park in beautiful downtown Cheboygan, Saturday and Sunday at 10am, both days. Over 30 crafters and artists will be displaying unique items, such as jewelry, stuffed animals, blankets, home décor, wooden signs, striking artwork, tie dyes, decorative blades and swords, homemade desserts and so much more! Support small businesses and shop local at Washington Park in downtown Cheboygan.

And finally, singer/songwriter Chase Matthew will be at the Ovation Hall at the Odawa Casino in Petoskey. Since releasing his debut album, Born for This, earlier this year, Chase has been busy selling out venues across the nation on his headline ‘Born For This’ Tour. However, his show at Ovation Hall is not sold out, so there is still time to get your ticket and enjoy a live show, this Saturday night at 8pm. More details at OdawaCasino.com
