Hello, I’m Patricia! I am a 2 year old, loyal companion who loves to cuddle up with a good book (or a TV remote, I’m not picky).
My playful spirit keeps things lively, and my funny antics are sure to keep you laughing. I’m friendly to all, sweet as pie, and a little goofy – but in the best way!
I’m also brave, tackling new toys with gusto. Energetic? Check. Smart? Double check. Curious? Triple check. I do love a good chat, so expect many meow-filled conversations.
I’m not just a cat, I’m a friend, a confidante, a source of joy. Adopting me means inviting a ray of sunshine into your life, every day.
I am looking for a mature cat savvy home that knows how to read cat body language. I have potential to live with other cats with proper introduction.
Thank you so much for your continued support!
TC PAWS
We have a BONDED pair this week with TC Paw Cat Rescue: Maureen and Izzy. Maureen is the long fur brown and Izzy is the dark torti fur.
Maureen
Domestic Medium Hair / Tabby
Small Adult Female (spayed)
Maureen was a skinny stray living around and under the deck of a Kewadin residence whose owners called TC Paw and said they thought she and the other cat with her had been dumped nearby since they hadn’t seen the cats before. Maureen is a friendly, confident cat who looks you right in the eye. She kind of flirts with you by rolling on her back when she wants something. Really cute. She’s a pretty cat with a mane around her face, a bushy tail, soft fur, and eyes that go from gold to green in different light. She’s quick on her feet and likes to stand on shoulders or chair backs to be close and observe. She uses her scratching post regularly. Maureen loves attention. Pick her up and hold her to your chest, talk to her, and let her curl up in your lap. She looks out the window and chatters at birds. When she’s hungry, Maureen will nibble and lick the ends of your fingers. Maybe it’s a behavior left over from being a hungry stray that will fade when she’s confident that there’s plenty of food. See Maureen here!
Izzy
Domestic Short Hair / Tortoiseshell
Medium Adult Female (spayed)
Izzy was a skinny stray living around and under the deck of a Kewadin residence whose owners called TC Paw and said they thought she and the other cat with her had been dumped nearby since they hadn’t seen the cats before. Izzy made herself right at home with her foster family. She has a loud purr, and she likes to be picked up and held. She has beautiful green eyes, a shiny tortoiseshell coat, and an orange spot on her rear paws. She’s quick on her feet, uses her scratching post, likes to stretch out, and enjoys exploring high, low and small spaces. When it’s naptime, she finds a quiet spot. Possibly because she was so hungry as a stray, Izzy has a big appetite and will finish a slower cat’s food. Her foster intervenes, and we think this behavior will fade as Izzy gets more confident that there’s plenty of food. See Izzy here!

TC Paw Cat Rescue was formed in the Spring of 2023 after the well-known northern Michigan rescue group AC PAW retired their rescue program for cats and dogs. Their mission is helping cats and kittens in the greater Traverse City region through rescue, spay/neuter, fostering, adoption, education and community collaboration.

Meadow came to our shelter as a transfer from Van Buren County with her sibling Misty. Unfortunately, we don’t know anything about their past and how they ended up at the shelter. What we do know is that both of the girls are sweet as can be despite being very shy with people upon first meeting. Being in a shelter environment can be extremely stressful on dogs. But given the time and space to open up, Meadow loves nothing more than some treats and cuddles from her favorite humans. Meadow has tested heartworm positive, to a very minor degree. What this means is that for the time being, her activity needs to be minimalized. Which means no time outside with the other dogs. That said, Meadow is able to have leashed walks and improves everyday! No aggressive treatment for her condition has been recommended. She will need to have monthly over the counter heartworm treatment, such as interceptor+. It’s also a good idea to keep in touch with your veterinarian, as she will have to have exams every 6 months. She doesn’t let a little thing like that keep her down though! Meadow is ready to meet her new forever family, and you could be the recipient of all the love she has to give!
From AuSable Valley Animal Shelter
Hello Friend! I’m Uno, yep – that’s right – just like the card game! The shelter staff gave me the name Uno, because they said that I’m 1 of a kind. I’m big, I’m handsome, and I have about 1 brain cell total – I don’t take offense, they say all the best boys do!
I am an American Bulldog, weighing in at about 110lbs. I’m roughly 1-1.5 years old, I’m neutered, I’ve been vaccinated, microchipped, and I’m up to date on my heartworm testing!
As you know, I’m a big dude, with a big personality, and a big past that I’m trying to overcome. I was originally found in Genesee County, when Animal Control saw a very angry & mean person throw me from a moving vehicle. I was scared, & injured, and hesitant to trust anyone again. Thankfully my friends at Genesee County Animal Control helped me learn that I could trust people again, and helped me get a much-needed surgery for my eyes! Then they reached out to my friends here at AVAS and I made my big journey up North!
Since I’ve been here, I’ve come such a long way! I’ve healed from my eye surgeries; I’ve been spending time playing with all the toys and eating all the snacks! I should let you know, I am an equal opportunity snacker! I love all of the snacks, treats, and I will eat anything – anytime! I love to enjoy long and slow walks, and take in all the smells outside. I also love to just roll around in the grass and relax!
The home I’m looking for will have humans familiar with large breed dogs, lots of patience (bonus points for those that have helped dogs overcome their past), older teenage children, and a comfy couch for me to relax. Although I’m young, I tend to be a bit on the lazy side. Oh, and a well-stocked treat cabinet is a must for me. I tend to get very excited and prey driven when I see those things that meow, so a home with no cats is going to be best for me. I might do well living with another dog, but I’d have to meet them first to make sure we’re compatible.
I’m hoping someone out there is looking for a smushy face like mine to make their house a home. If you’d like to meet me, or have any questions about me, reach out to my friends at AVASCares2@gmail.com, or by phone at 989-348-4117. I hope I get to meet you, and test drive your couch soon!
