Cherryland Humane Society
Looking for a gentle soul to share your quiet mornings and sun-drenched afternoons? Meet Tessa, a sweet senior lady with a heart full of love and the best handshake in town!
Tessa is relaxed and easygoing. She prefers a cozy bed and best if it’s in the sunshine. Walks are a breeze; she’s calm, friendly, and always ready for a walk or cuddle. Once outside, this lovely girl shines! Tessa is social, affectionate, and absolutely melts hearts with her joyful tippy taps when she’s excited or getting pets. She’s a gentle wiggler who happily accepts all pets and loves giving soft kisses.
Social Butterfly? You bet. Tessa adores people and greets everyone like an old friend. With dogs, she’s calm and aloof – happy to share space, not big on puppy energy or rough play. She’s shown curiosity and gentleness with cats and may do well with a confident feline friend given proper intros and ongoing guidance.
She already knows “sit” and delights in showing off her adorable paw-shaking skills. Whether she’s snuggling up for love or lounging in the sunshine, she’s content just being near her people.
Health-wise, Tessa is a senior with a few medical needs – she’s currently being treated for an ear infection and an ear mass, needs a dental, and we’re keeping an eye on a possible heart condition. But through it all, she remains gentle, curious, and endlessly sweet.
Tessa would thrive in a mellow home where she can soak up affection, nap in the sun, and be part of a loving routine. With proper introductions, she has potential to live with cats, dogs, and respectful kids.
If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate, and truly special companion, Tessa is ready to bring her warmth, tippy taps, and wiggles into your life.
TC PAWS
The TC Paw pet of the week is a BONDED pair of littermates (sisters) Lucy & Ethel.
Lucy
Domestic Short Hair / Tabby
Medium Adult Female (spayed)
2 years old
Lucy and her sister Ethel were found living outdoors in a garage this spring. They had been there all winter, fed by a neighbor. Lucy has gone from being terrified to seeking attention. The more outgoing of the two, Lucy is a sweet, gentle cat who likes to lick your fingers. She’s not sure about new places and people, but with time to adjust and a gradual introduction, she’ll be comfortable in a quiet home. She likes kids and other cats. Lucy loves her sister Ethel. They’re a bonded pair who need to find a home together.

Meet Taz! She is a senior gal at 12 years old looking for a quiet home. She is not a fan of dogs and has not been around cats. Her purrfect home would be an older couple or someone that will let her be the queen of the castle. She is ok being left alone. Taz does like to play. She is not a lap cat but will be close by to keep you company and will let you know when she would like attention.

Charlevoix Humane Society
Meet Lincoln! This bubbly little boy is full of energy and ready to find his new home! Lincoln is one of three Mountain Curs we got through a rescue mission headed by Bissell Pet Foundation. They are from Louisiana. Mountain Curs are typically intelligent and easily trained. They are known to try to please their humans and are able to get along well with children and other pets. Since these curs were bred to work, if deprived of the opportunity to hunt, guard, or work around a farm, they will sometimes grow anxious and bored. However, when they have a job to do, they are generally happy and obedient. Mountain Curs can live up to 14–16 years, and there are no reported breed-specific health issues. He is very smart and loving. He is still a puppy and will need direction in housetraining and commands. Puppy classes are required for adoption. He will probably be between 30 and 40 pounds when full grown. These are precious little pups that will bring joy to any family.
Adopting a pet from the Charlevoix Area Humane Society not only changes the life of an animal but also enriches your own life in countless ways. If you would like to adopt one of our dogs or cats, you will need to fill out an application and once it is approved, we can then set up an appointment for a visit. Hi, I’m Dali!
Some people say art imitates life—but I prefer to say life imitates me! I’m Dali, a bright, long-haired orange tabby named after the famous surrealist painter, and honestly, I think I live up to the name: a little quirky, very charming, and totally one-of-a-kind.
I’m just 3 months old, full of kitten energy, and always ready to turn your living room into a masterpiece of toy balls, feathers, and ribbon trails. I love to play with other cats and, with a proper introduction, I’d probably do great with dogs or kids too—I’m an open-minded kind of guy.
One of my best features (besides my dreamy orange stripes)? I’m super chill. You can hold me on my back like a baby, rub my belly, and I won’t squirm or fuss. I might even drape over your arms like a melted clock. I love people and all the affection that comes with them.
I’m also litter trained, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped—so I’m totally ready for my forever home.
I’m looking for a place where I can keep being my silly, affectionate self while bringing a little eccentric joy into your life. Could that be with you?
Let’s make it a purr-fect match! Contact the shelter on how you can take me home at 989-348-4117 or avascares2@gmail.com. Business hours are 10am to 6pm, Tuesday through Saturday.

Cammy has been a puppy for ten years! Seriously, at ten years old this girl is all about running around and having a good time. Cammy loves to play with balls, and enjoys good treats! She is more than happy to make new doggy friends and actually would likely prefer a home with other smaller dogs. Currently she is 19lbs.
