The Final Summer Weekend in 2025

Autumn starts on Monday, and it seems as though summer temperatures are not quite gone. There is still a bit of warmth in the air, yet some fall colors are showing, so for this edition of our Weekend Fun Five, we’ll cover a mix of summer and fall fun.

The first on our Weekend Fun Five is the 30th Annual Taste of Harbor Springs on Saturday from 12pm-3pm along the waterfront at Marina Park, downtown Harbor Springs. You’ll experience many flavors of the local culinary scene! You’ll be treated with small tastes from area restaurants like Birchwood Golf and Country Club, Fustini’s, Legs Inn, The New York Restaurant, & many others. This event, hosted by the Harbor Springs Area Chamber of Commerce, includes live music by Rivertown Jazz Band, and benefits the Mary Ellen Hughes Culinary Scholarship. Tickets are now $50. Let’s move towards a more fall festive event. If you enjoy food, live music and hoppy beverages, you’ll enjoy the Empire Hops & Harvest Festival on Saturday between Noon and 6pm on W. Front St. There will be food vendors, live music, and plenty of beer to go around. Admission is $12 online and $15 at the door. $8 per beverage, and commemorative pint glasses are available for $10 with complimentary pour. Next on our fun fall theme is the 40th Annual Leelanau Harvest Tour. This takes place this Saturday at 8am, with registration at Herman Park’s Suttons Bay Adventure. This a bike ride that you can choose how far you’d like to go, from routes of 18, 38 or 70 miles that wind throughout Leelanau County on paved roads passing by farms, orchards, vineyards, dunes, & through quaint villages. The tour fee includes a post-ride Harvest Lunch at North Park. $35-$75. You can get more details at: CherryCapitalCyclingClub.org

Autumn is a great time for wine tasting, and the Petoskey Wine Region Presents the Harvest Showcase this Friday through Sunday, starting at 11am each day. Travel around to the Petoskey Wine Region participating wineries and enjoy a complementary taste with a small bite at each winery. The cost is $30, and you can purchase tickets at petoskey.wine/event/2025-harvest-showcase.

Finally, if your enjoy art, Art in the Barn – Fall is a two day event on Saturday and Sunday at the Emmet Country Fair Grounds from 10am till 5pm each day. This event has both indoor and outdoor booths featuring, art, crafts, food and more. Shop for unique art, interesting crafts, harvest item, pumpkins, mums and more. $10 VIP admission includes VIP barn side parking. $3 for general admission.
