Fall Festivals This Weekend

Fall is finally in the air. The days are cooler, more especially the nights. With that, we have some great festivals to let you know about for the weekend.

First, the 46th Annual Charlevoix Apple Fest goes from Friday till Sunday, starting at 10am each day, with art & craft shows, farmers market, music in the streets, a variety of kids activities, and… apples! A weekend of fun to be sure in downtown Charlevoix along Bridge Street in East Park overlooking Round Lake. More details can be found at Charlevoix.org.

Heading north of Harbor Springs, The Highlands Harvest Fest start at noon on Saturday and goes till 4pm at the Highland at Harbor Springs. For the kids, face painting, cookie decorating, burlap sack racing, a juggler, pumpkin ring toss, yard games, cider, & donuts. The grownups can take part in the autumn Highlands Stein Hoisting event (2pm) for a chance to win a gift card. Tickets include the scenic chairlift ride, all the activities, & Stein Hoisting. $20 per ticket and children five and under are free. Details and tickets: HighlandsHarborSprings.com/events

Traveling along U.S. 131, we head over to Fife Lake’s Annual Scarecrow Festival, at Center of Fife Lake Village. Saturday from 11AM-2PM, there will be games, farm and craft market, food, hay rides, donkey petting, costume contest at noon, business trick-or-treating, pumpkin decorating & more. Next, we head to the 10th Annual Lake Leelanau Street Harvest Festival on Saturday. From 11am till 6pm, Downtown Lake Leelanau will feature children’s activities including face painting, juggling acts by Clark Lewis, a live petting zoo with Double Oak Farm; arts & crafts, local artists, food, live music by New Third Coast & Blue Footed Booby, and much more. For the ladies, a festival of witches in Elk Rapids with Witches Night Out on Saturday, from 5 till 9pm in Elk Rapids & Ames St. Join your friends, neighbors, and beloved local shops for a spellbinding night downtown Elk Rapids & Ames Street. Get ready for a night out with pop ups & contests galore, giveaways, sweet deals, and potions! Polish up your witches scream for the second annual event! Dust off that little black dress and throw on your best witchy attire to sprinkle some extra charm on the night!
