The Rocky Horror Picture Show – Shadowcast

An unforgettable night is in store as North Star Performing Arts Shadowcast brings The Rocky Horror Picture Show to life on stage. Get ready for outrageous fun, audience participation, and the cult-classic energy you know and love, complete with prop bags, costumes, and all the iconimc moments that make Rocky Horror a fan favorite. Doors open at 8pm. $20 Cover. $5 Prop Bags sold by performers. No outside props please. Costumes & audience participation encouraged.

 

6th Annual Colors by the Lake & Chili Cookoff 

Village Green in Walloon Lake on M75 

Saturday and Sunday, 10a – 5p (Chili Cookoff Sunday October 5th at Noon, $8) 

6th annual Colors by the Lake Art & Craft show is back again at Village Green in Walloon Lake on M75. The Chili Cookoff to benefit local food pantry returns Sunday Oct 5 at noon. Free admission to the public for art show and $8 for CHILI cookoff. Gorgeous downtown venue set on Walloon Lake, arguably one of the prettiest spots in NWMI. Hours are Saturday & Sunday 10am to 5pm.

 

2nd Annual Witches Night Out

Downtown Traverse City will be transformed into a spellbinding experience Saturday night as 25+ local businesses open their doors for a night of Magic & Mystery. Enjoy exclusive sales and offers, themed treats, tarot, fairy hair, live performances, & more. Dress like a witch – or however makes you feel most powerful, and enjoy this family-friendly celebration of enchantment, small business, and holiday magic.

 

Oktoberfest

Saturday October 18th, 5PM 

Shanahan’s Barn, Charlevoix (Charlevoix Historical Society) 

Enjoy German cuisine and brews, live music, as well as a silent auction and the chance to win prizes at this Oktoberfest celebration to benefit the Charlevoix Historical Society & Charlevoix Circle of Arts. Ski Swap (Downhill and Cross Country) 

Friday and Saturday, October 17th – 18th 

TC West Middle School, Traverse City 

The Grand Traverse Ski Club is hosting its annual Ski Swap – a great chance for the community to buy and sell downhill & cross country gear including skis, boots, poles, racing suits, ski coats, helmets, and more. Friday is the Equipment drop-off to sell from 6:30 to 8:30. Saturday the Ski Swap will take place from 9am until 1pm.
