Are you ready to meet the bravest good boy! My name is Hudson, just like the river, and just like a river my friends say I give them a feeling of zen calm when they hang out with me. I’m usually a mellow, sensitive dude, but don’t be fooled, I am the goofiest, sweetest, most playful guy once I’m comfortable with you.
My favorite things include playing tag, chasing you while you hold my toys, zoomies that cause his booty to move faster than my paws, and I really enjoy a good gentle cuddle. I am smart and VERY food motivated which is a good tool for learning new tricks.
I have potential with other dogs and mature kiddos, but no kitty cats please. I’ve gotten so brave with help from my friends at the shelter, and I’m ready to meet new friends!
To learn more about me, ask my bffs! (aka the staff)

This week, we have a bonded pair of kittens. Say hellow to Bernie & Milton
Bernie and Milton came to TC Paw when a kind woman asked us for help with a feral mom and kittens she found. We placed the kittens in a TC Paw foster home.
It took a few days for Bernie, the one with the little white patch on his chest, to trust his people, but now he is more interested in them all the time. He’s a sweet, adventurous, playful little guy who purrs whenever you walk in the room, as well as when he eats. He loves playing with his brother and dragging his toys around. He gets along with other cats, and he’s warming up to the foster family’s dog. His likes include teaser toys and closet hiding places. His one dislike is an empty food dish. Bernie may not be quick to trust, but earning his purr is worth it.
Milton was initially a shy, uncertain kitty, he has grown in confidence and shows his affectionate side more every day. He is playful, adventurous, and sweet. He purrs instantly when you hold and pet him, though he doesn’t like forced snuggles. He does like Churu treats and teaser toys. Milton gets along with other cats, and he’s warming up to the family dog.

Meet, Willow (gray) and her bonded fabulous feline friend, Lilith (brown tabby) ❤️ These two long fur ladies are bonded. Both kitties need a new home OR foster together, since their current human was facing a new housing situation and could not keep them. Willow is 3 years old and Lilith is 4 years old. Both kitties are spayed, up to date on vaccines and indoor. They’re affectionate, playful and love to be together bird watching or lounging in the sunshine. They would do well in a quiet home or someone experienced with indoor kitties.
Also…

Shayne is a grey tabby, spayed, rabies vaccinated, and combo tested negative. She has a head tilt that doesn’t seem to bother her or cause her pain and the vet did nit find anything wrong. She is friendly, rubs against your leg and wants pets! Shayne talks a little but haven’t seen her play with any toys. She was a good mom and raised her kittens. Now it is time she gets to be someone’s indoor kitty.

This beautiful lady is Freya!
Freya ended up at our shelter as an unclaimed stray. She is a mature female Catahoula Leopard Dog. The Catahoula is a breed known for herding and their undying loyalty, but they also need regular exercise.
Though it can be hard to tell with strays, we believe that Freya is approximately six years old. She is very affectionate and athletic and even knows how to sit! She’ll impress you with her blazing speed and smarts!
Freya has beautiful soft hair that will likely require regular grooming. She enjoys going on walks and frolicking in the yard, so an active home where she can run and play all day would be best for her. Freya doesn’t get along with all dogs and may not do well with cats. She can be a bit shy around strangers upon first meeting. But once she’s warmed up to you, she’ll be your best friend for life!
If you’re interested in meeting Freya you can set up an appointment by calling the Charlevoix Area Humane Society at 231-582-6774. She can’t wait to meet you!

Hi! My name is Petey! But the nickname I’ve earned at the shelter is “Speedy Petey” because I am the fastest runner!
I am a handsome and playful 1-year-old boy. Since Mom and Dad didn’t make it in to visit, my breed is unknown. I am a medium-sized guy, weighing around 40-45 lbs. I am neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on my heartworm testing.
I was found in Branch County, MI, running as a stray. When the Branch County team asked me what I wanted, I told them I wanted to live my best life in Northern Michigan, so they were nice enough to give me a ride.
At the shelter, I’ve discovered that my favorite hobbies are racing around the yard with my doggo friends, playing fetch, and going on long walks. I would also make an amazing hiking buddy. I am a high-energy guy and would thrive in a home with active people. I am good with kids and other dogs, but those small things that say “meow” make me nervous.
If you would like to meet me and see how fast I can run, stop by the shelter Tuesday–Saturday, 10 AM – 6 PM, and I’ll make sure to stretch before I show off.

Say hello to Marley!
This sweet girl is a three year old,75 pound, hound mix just looking for love. Marley was returned to CCHS after being adopted out as a puppy. Unfortunately for Marley, she doesn’t have many leash manners (but she’s working on it!) and she is the happiest girl here.
Marley is unsure of life when you’re not around so a crate would likely be her best option when left home alone. Marley wasn’t given a fair shot to start out and didn’t have the opportunities with training so she will need work, especially correction when she is doing something in the home that you do not approve of.
Marley LOVES to go on adventures and has done our 30 minute trek with our amazing volunteers numerous times. Marley was around another dog, we’re not sure how they were together so a slow and proper introduction will be key in sending her to a home with other dogs. The hound in Marley has her wanting to chase cats so a home with no cats is best.
Marley has been around kids too and from our understanding, outside of pulling on the leash, she did great with them. All this girl wants to do is love on people, go on adventures, take a good nap because it is hard because as beautiful as she is. This girl is ready to go on every adventure you’re willing to take her on.
