PET INFORMATION:
Name: Maui
Info: Male, 4 year
Days At the Shelter: 35 days

Meet Maui! A special soul looking for a special home. Maui is a sweet, loving dog with unique needs who has captured a lot of hearts. While his uncoordinated movements have puzzled the vets, Maui himself doesn’t seem bothered by it one bit. He faces the world with resilience, gentleness, and a whole lot of love to give.

Maui needs a home that understands his challenges and can accept him exactly as he is, no fixing required. He does well with other calm, respectful dogs, as long as playtime stays gentle and not too rough. Because Maui can’t move or play like a typical dog, a home with respectful children is recommended so he can stay safe and comfortable. Maui also have potential with dog-savvy confident cats.

– Incredibly sweet and affectionate
– Special needs, but full of heart
– Dog-friendly with calm companions
– Thrives in a patient, understanding home

Maui isn’t defined by what he can’t do, he’s defined by how much love he gives. If you believe every dog deserves to be cherished just as they are, Maui may be the perfect addition to your family. If you’re ready to open your heart to a truly special dog, Maui is waiting to meet you.

Cherryland Humane Society is a private, no kill animal shelter servicing Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties. We are an independent, 501-C, non profit organization. CHS is dependent on donations, fundraising activities, estates, planned giving, memorials and occasional grants for operation. Visit our available pets online at cherrylandhumane.org

Meet Lexi!

While Lexi gets along with other cats with a gentle introduction, she would thrive best in a peaceful, adult-only home. Experienced cat owners will appreciate her unique personality and needs. Although she tolerates dogs, her ideal environment is one where she can reign as the sole pet.

Lexi is a beautiful 5.8-year-old calico. If you’re ready to provide a loving home for this sweet talker, visit www.tcpaw.org to fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire. A TC Paw volunteer will contact you. Take the first step toward welcoming Lexi into your heart.

If you would like to meet to adopt Lexi, go to our website at www.tcpaw.org and fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire. A TC Paw volunteer will contact you.

AuSable Valley Animal Shelter

Well Hey There! My name is Beau, sometimes my friends at the shelter call me Beau Beau Beans – because my name is so nice they like to say it twice.

A little bit about me – I am a little over one year old, I’m a large mixed breed dog weighing in at about 60lbs. I’ve been neutered, vaccinated, and I’m up to date on my vaccines and heartworm testing!

I came in as a stray, and when my owners were contacted – they decided it would be best for me to find a new home, because they couldn’t care for me anymore. While I was super sad at first, I look at this as an opportunity to make new friends, and I can’t wait to find my furever family!

I am an active boy, and I will need someone to help me learn my manners, I’m not sure how I’d do living with another dog, so I’d have to meet them first to see if we are a good fit. I know that I can’t live with cats because well, I like to chase them and I’ve been told they don’t like it. Oops!

I’d love to meet you, and if you’d like to meet me, stop by the shelter Tuesday-Saturday 10am-6pm. If you have questions, please reach out to my friends at AVASCares2@gmail.com or you can call 989-348-4117. I hope we get to meet soon!

Cheboygan County Humane Society

Y’all meet Bonnie!

Bonnie is a 2 year old mix girl with the biggest smile. Bonnie loves adventures, going out, being around people and when it is all said and done, enjoys her bed time too. Bonnie does not seem to mind other dogs, she had been around them previously. Bonnie unfortunately lost her owner not too long ago and the house that tried to take her in, just wasn’t working out.

Bonnie has been thrown through some real trials in the year 2025 and we’re hopeful that maybe 2026 has some amazing things in store for this amazing girl. Bonnie still needs some work on her leash manners but everyday with our amazing volunteer dog walkers, she is getting better and better.

Due to her circumstances, we’re not sure how Bonnie does with kids but she is so social and fun to be around, as long as they can respect her and giving her time and space, we’re sure she’ll do great! Any home that Bonnie is in, cats are a no go, she does not do well with them. If you’re interested in Bonnie, feel free to fill out an adoption application either online or in person.

For more detials, go to cheboyganhumanesociety.org. Or stop by the shelter at 1535 Hackleburg Road, Cheboygan. Call 231-238-8221 for more information. Shelter hours are Mon-Fri 9-4pm and Saturday noon-4pm.
