Memorial Day Events
Harbor Springs Monday, May 26 for the annual Memorial Day Parade, beginning at 10 a.m. on Main Street. Organized by the Smith-Hoover American Legion Post 281, the parade features the Legion’s long-standing Drum & Bugle Corps and concludes with a waterfront ceremony at Zorn Park to honor fallen service members. Start the morning at the Legion’s Memorial Day Breakfast from 7–10 a.m. at the corner of State and Third Streets.
Charlevoix Monday, May 26, Charlevoix’s Memorial Day observances are planned for 9 a.m. Monday, in Brookside Cemetery, followed by a parade downtown at 10 am. The Charlevoix City Band will be performing in East Park in honor of Memorial Day.
Northport The 6th annual Rolling Taps, 1pam starting at the Welcome to Northport sign on M22. Members of the Northport Community Band will play rolling taps beginning at 10am prior to the Memorial Day Ceremony at the Leelanau Township Cemetery in Northport. Musicians will begin playing TAPS at the “Welcome to Northport” sign on M22, & one by one hand off to musicians stationed throughout the village & marina until they reach the bugler at the cannon at the cemetery.
Mackinaw City Monday, 10am – Memorial Day Service @ Mackinaw City Municipal Lawn
East Jordan Parade line-up at G.A.R. Park at 10:30am & parade begins at 10:45am. Runs down Main St. Head to Memorial Park after for the Memorial Day program.
