This morning we were talking about "empty nest syndrome" and got some pretty good advice if you are or will be dealing with that.
1. Create an identiy outside your home - before your children leave if possible
2. Do something new - writing? photography? painting? talking a bath without interuption? DO IT!
3. Look at the good things about being an empty nester - you can pick up and travel; go to be when you want; have lunch with a friend insead of washing dirty uniforms, grocery shoppin or being a chauffer.
4. Focus on your spouse - re-connect, get romantic
Remember that even if your kids no longer live at home, the chances are good you will get calls for advice, help with laundry, etc. and hopefully your kids will truly begin to appreciate you!
