Thinking about a new dog? First impressions do matter.

One of the good things to come out of our new COVID life is…. many people are home and have had time to add a new dog to their family.  Shelters are finding that their dogs are finding homes quicker, so that’s good for everyone. There is nothing better than a rescue dog!
But one thing that is so important in adding a dog your your family is introducing the new dog to the current dogs. When an introduction goes bad, it can take a long time to get the dogs back on track. So what do you do?
I love trainer Victoria Stillwell. Her books and videos are incredibly helpful and I totally believe in her approach to positive training. Rewarding good behavior is much more effective than creating fear and punishing bad behavior.
She has some great tips for introducing your new dog. Check them out here.
