From Pirates to Puppies, there’s plenty of fun out there this weekend!

Downtown Boyne City is taken over by Pirates this week, plus, it’s Fair week in Traverse City! The International Ironworkers festival is this weekend in Mackinaw City, and, you only have a few more chances to catch a ballgame at Turtle Creek Stadium this year. Then on Saturday, it’s a four-legged fashion show in Northport!

39th annual International Ironworkers Festival
August 11th-13th, Mackinaw City
Celebrate the brave men who built the Mackinac Bridge!  Watch ironworkers compete in the world championship column climb, rod tying, spud throw, rivet toss, & knot tying competitions.
 
Last call for the Traverse City Pit Spitters!
August 9th-12th, Turtle Creek Stadium, Traverse City
The Pit Spitters end their regular season at home this weekend-Wednesday & Thursday they play the Kenosha Kingfish, and Friday and Saturday, come out to see them face the Rockford Rivets, with fireworks after the game both nights! Annual Northport Dog Parade
Saturday, August 12th, Noon, Downtown Northport
This year’s theme is Canine Couture: A Doggie Fashion Show. Dogs & their families will walk the red carpet in Downtown Northport while dressed in their fashionable best. In-person registration begins at 10:30. The parade line-up will start at 11:30 am and the parade will commence at noon.
