Parades, Shopping in your PJ’s, a Historic Holiday show and more!

It’s a long weekend for most of us-and, a lot of us also have family in town to entertain…but there’s certainly no shortage of fun stuff to do across the area!

Wake up early this Friday for a different kind of Black Friday shopping experience in Glen Arbor, with their annual PJ Party! Downtown stores will have special deals for early risers…plus the annual Bed Parade rolls down Western Avenue starting at 9am!
Then, later in the evening, enjoy festive fun in Downtown Charlevoix!  From 3-6pm, the Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting Celebration will feature free photos with Santa, hot cocoa in the park, the Charlevoix Holiday Parade, and of course, the lighting of the big community tree!!!

Or, start working on your holiday shopping this Friday night in Boyne City! Holly Jolly Boyne has businesses staying open late, and their parade begins at 6pm! Join Santa as he travels to the tree lighting in Old City Park.

There’s also a fabulous holiday show at the Old Town Playhouse this Friday though December 9th… “The Christmas Schooner” is the musical story of a Michigan shipping captain who braves the deadly winter weather to bring Christmas trees Chicago, based on the historic voyages of Christmas tree ships during the late 1800s & early 1900s. Tickets and showtimes are available online at oldtownplayhouse.com

And Saturday is the big night in Downtown Petoskey-come out to Lake and Mitchell streets for one of the most festive parades of the year-the “Light Up the Night” Holiday Parade-starting at 6pm! Featuring the Petoskey High School Marching Band, Santa Claus, local area non-profits, & festive floats & walking ensembles.
