If you’re looking for a dog with a BIG personality and even BIGGER zoomies, say hello to Lynette! This affectionate, goofy girl is a one year old, wiggly bundle of love, energy, and tail-wagging joy. She’s basically a happy little tornado-sweet, silly, and always ready for action. At the shelter, Lynette is known for her epic zooms and gravity-defying spins. She loves people, makes friends instantly, and turns into a cuddly worm when she gets pets and attention.
What You’ll Love About Lynette:
– Goofy, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining
– Confident and brave-nothing slows her down!
– Smart girl who already knows “sit” and works for treats
– AMAZING sniffer and full of curiosity
– The fastest zoomies in the West (possibly the planet)
Lynette Would Love:
An active home where she can run, play, and be part of the action. Dog-savvy kids who can handle her energy and enthusiasm. Continued puppy training to help her channel her smarts and excitement. A family that enjoys being outside, going on adventures, and laughing a lot. A dog sibling (with a proper intro) to match her playful vibe. Possibly a cat sibling with ongoing socialization and training!
She’s a strong girl but has a gentle heart-just needs a little help learning that not everything needs full zoom-mode. Lynette is the kind of dog who will turn every day into an adventure, every walk into a sprint, and every moment into something to smile about.
If you’re ready for a wild ride full of wiggles, spins, and unconditional love-Lynette is your girl. Come meet her and prepare to fall head over heels!
TC PAWS
This week, we have a bonded pair of kittens, Reggie and Shila.
Reggie came to TC Paw from a TNR situation. A feral mother cat and her four-week-old kittens were living in a crawlspace. The mother was released, and the kittens were placed in a TC Paw foster home. Reggie was friendly from the start. He’s a mellow cat who purrs readily and plays with his littermates and the toddler and teens in his foster home. He doesn’t hide from people or activity, and he likes to be around the other cats. Small cat toys and long hair are his favorite playthings. Reggie’s only dislikes are the family’s two small dogs. Reggie hisses at them when they came near. Otherwise, he’s an easy-going guy who will be a great pet. Reggie’s foster family welcomes home visits from applicants who want to meet him in his home setting.
Shila also came to TC Paw from a TNR situation and is bonded with Reggie. Shila arrived at her foster home hissing and hiding, but it took only a day for her to warm up to the toddler and teens in her foster home. She likes being held and petted and being with other kittens, but she’s content on her own too. Her foster home has two small dogs that Shila prefers to avoid. The foster family welcomes home visits from applicants who want to meet Shila in her home setting.

TC Paw Cat Rescue was formed in the Spring of 2023 after the well-known northern Michigan rescue group AC PAW retired their rescue program for cats and dogs. Their mission is helping cats and kittens in the greater Traverse City region through rescue, spay/neuter, fostering, adoption, education and community collaboration.

Shayne is a grey tabby, spayed, rabies vaccinated, and combo tested negative. She has a head tilt that doesn’t seem to bother her or cause her pain and the vet did nit find anything wrong. She is friendly, rubs against your leg and wants pets! Shayne talks a little but haven’t seen her play with any toys. She was a good mom and raised her kittens. Now it is time she gets to be someone’s indoor kitty.

Meet the sweet and sassy, Arline!
Arline came to us through a rescue mission organized by the Bissell Foundation. Arline is about 5 months old and we believe she is a Mountain Cur mix. Although Arline has been with us for a couple months now, she is still learning to warm up to new people, but once she does, she is a bundle of love and fun! We believe Arline will be between 30 and 40 pounds when full grown. Arline is learning some basic manners and learning to walk on a leash, she is very eager to please. She is not yet housetrained, but does an excellent job of keeping her kennel clean. Puppies under 9 months will require puppy classes.
Adopting a pet from the Charlevoix Area Humane Society not only changes the life of an animal but also enriches your own life in countless ways. If you would like to adopt one of our dogs or cats, you will need to fill out an application and once it is approved, we can then set up an appointment for a visit. Please call 231-582-6774 with any questions.

Greetings Friend! My name is Al, short for Alfred because – like a fine wine, I’ve aged sweeter with time!
A little info about me, I am a distinguished older gentleman about 8-10 years old, I weigh in at about 70 lbs – and it’s suspected I’m a border collie mix of some sort. I am up to date on my vaccines, I’m microchipped, and up to date on my HW testing, and here in the next week, I’ll be getting sterilized.
I was found running as a stray here in Crawford County, so not much is known about my life before AVAS. What I’ve shown staff since I’ve arrived is that I’m a happy, go-lucky, cuddle bug, that will do anything for a good snack and some attention. I enjoy being brushed, and I love lounging around in the sun or going for a nice walk.
I seem to be very friendly with kids, other dogs, and all people. I should mention those things that meow, just aren’t for me.
If you think you might be ready to open your home to a sweet senior like myself, please reach out to my friends at AVASCares2@gmail.com or by phone at 989-348-4117. I hope we get to spend some time together soon!
