John Kelly here, and are you looking forward to a weekend of fall and Halloween event? Of course you are! Let’s see what kind of spooky fun there is throughout northern Michigan for the weekend before Halloween with John Kelly’s Weekend Fun Five!

First, we have great trick-or-treating fun for the kids with the Downtown Trick or Treating and Parade on Saturday, as kids will be able to enjoy a trick-or-treating adventure throughout downtown Petoskey stores. They will meet at Central Elementary School promptly at 9:45am. The costume parade will begin at 10am, starting from Central Elementary and marching down Howard Street, and on to Pennsylvania Park. For the safety of the trick-or-treaters, the downtown streets will be closed to vehicular. Only foot traffic will be allowed during the event. For more details, visit: PetoskeyDownTown.com/events

Kids in the Traverse City area will have fun at the Downtown TC Halloween Walk on Saturday, from 10AM-11:30AM. From the 100, 200, & 300 blocks of East Front Street to the shops on State Street, and all the side streets in between, candy awaits around every corner as the downtown area transforms into a spooky wonderland. Wear your favorite costume! With such a large amount of foot traffic on Front Street Downtown TC is encouraging a one-directional route (counterclockwise when facing west) for trick-or-treaters.
Further details can be found at DownTownTC.com/downtown-Halloween-walk.

Halloween isn’t only for kids. Adults will have a great time at the Bellaire Witch Project Halloween Event on Saturday, from 2 till 9pm in downtown Bellaire. There will be tarot card readings, Halloween treats, and baked goods available to purchase at The Flying Pig, as well as creepy cocktails, & more. Dress up in your favorite costume. Prizes for best costumes. More details for this is at BellaireChamber.org on their events page.

There will be fun for the whole family at the free Outdoor Movie Showing & Pumpkin Carving on Saturday, from 6 till 9:30pm, around the Corner Food & Fun in Northport.
Join in on the fun with free outdoor movies and pumpkin carving, plus, a favorite Halloween movie marathon of the Hocus Pocus movies. They will be lighting up the fire pits, there will be popping some popcorn and twirling some cotton candy! Bring your pumpkins and we have the carving tools, spoons and bowls! It will be a great night, so bring your blankets, chairs or roll up on your golf cart!

Finally, The Great Lakes Children’s Museum’s Spooky, Not Scary Celebration will take place at The Curiosity Place in the Grand Traverse Mall, on Saturday, from 5 till 7pm. The museum will host its annual Boo Bash Family Fun-raiser, an evening filled with glow-in-the-dark fun, creative activities, and community connection. Mix up your own glow slime, learn about the science behind fluorescence, and craft unique after-dark art to take home. Tickets include activities, crafts, snacks, and admission to The Curiosity Place. Everyone who arrives in costume will receive a special prize! Tickets: $15 per child, $5 per adult. Member Discount: $3 off per child. All proceeds support the Great Lakes Children’s Museum’s mission to provide a foundation of life-long learning through play-based exploration. For full event details and to purchase tickets, visit GreatLakesKids.org.

Have a fun and safe weekend, everyone!
