Cherryland Humane Society

PET INFORMATION:
Hello there, they call me Judy Hopps! That’s because of my cute little bunny tail, and my sweet personality. I’m looking for a life long buddy who will help me fight crime! Well, maybe that’s a bit much, but if you can give me lots of affection, endless pets, and plenty of tuna, I think we’ll be fast friends. I have an old injury which means I walk a little differently than other kitties, but I have the same amount of love to give. Please ask the staff about my medical needs, and stop by to see me today!
Cherryland Humane Society is a private, no kill animal shelter servicing Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties. We are an independent, 501-C, non profit organization. CHS is dependent on donations, fundraising activities, estates, planned giving, memorials and occasional grants for operation. Visit our available pets online at cherrylandhumane.org

MAUREEN & IZZY
Were two very skinny strays living under a deck. The owner of the home felt they had been dumped as they had never seen them before.
Maureen is a friendly, confident cat. She loves attention and loves to be picked up and held to your chest while you talk to her. She loves to curl up on your lap. She is a beautiful girl with the most beautiful eyes. She is 1 1/2 years old.
Izzy made herself right at home with her foster family. She likes to be picked up and held. She’s quick on her feet and enjoys exploring high, low and small spaces. When she’s tired, she look for a quiet spot to nap. Izzy has beautiful green eyes and a shiny tortoiseshell coat. She is 1 1/2 years old.
Maureen and Izzy are very bonded and we would like to have them adopted together. We are hoping someone has room in their home and heart for this pretty pair.
If you would like to meet to adopt Maureen and Izzy, go to our website at www.tcpaw.org and fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire. A TC Paw volunteer will contact you.

Hi guys!!! The name is Buddy and I am just so excited to meet you! I am a young lab mix with so much love to offer. I love to meet new people, but sometimes it takes me a minute to come out of my shell. Once I do though…. ohhhh BOY, I can wiggle so fast and jump in to your arms as fast as lightening! I love butt scratches and really like those things you call treats. I’m still trying to master the whole “going on a walk thing”, I get really excited when on a leash and tend to forget all my manners. I’m sure we could work together on that though. The other dogs here are a little intimidating, but I am very curious about them and I bet I could make friends with another dog pretty easily. I haven’t been around those smelly things you call cats, but you can bet if I run in to one I’m tucking my tail and getting out of there. I don’t mind kids, but I get pretty excited around them too and might accidently knock them over. My past is a mystery, but together we could make a great future I’ll never forget!
If you’re interested in meeting Mac, you can set up an appointment by calling the Charlevoix Area Humane Society at 231-582-6774. She can’t wait to meet you!

La Luna Labella – The Beautiful Moon! That’s me, I’m Luna – and I’m shooting for the moon and hoping to land amongst the stars and find my new home.
A little bit about me, I’m roughly 2 years old, and a medium mixed breed gal, weighing in at right around 50lbs. I’ve been vaccinated, microchipped, and I’m up to date on my vaccines – and pretty soon I’ll be getting sterilized!
My life before the shelter was pretty great, but unfortunately my owner fell on hard times and now I’m on a search to find a new furever home. Before coming to the shelter, I got to spend lots of time with kids, cats, and other dogs – I love everyone I meet – and I’m potty trained! That’s right, I’m really an all around good girl! But just like any perfect girl, I do have a flaw. I really enjoy getting exercise by myself and taking long runs. If I was a human, I’d be a track star. With that being said, my new family will need to make sure they keep me leashed at all times or have a fenced in yard that is secure.
If you’d like to meet me – stop by the shelter Tuesday-Saturday 10am-6pm and if you have questions email my friends at AVASCares2@gmail.com or call them at 989-348-4117. I hope we get to meet soon, and maybe we’ll spend some time under the moon and the stars enjoying life together!
I would love to meet you, if you want to meet me, stop by the shelter Tuesday-Saturday 10am-6pm and we can have some snacks at my temporary castle. If you have questions reach out to my friends at AVASCares2@gmail.com or by phone at 989-348-4117. See you soon!

Poor Marley is still here at CCHS. After being adopted as a puppy and being returned 3 years later, Marley hasn’t had too much interest and we’re truly not sure why! Marley is a hound mix, about 65 pounds and almost 4 years old (She’s a February Birthday!) with so much life left to live, she just wants to experience better than she ever has.
Marley is sweet, affectionate, loyal, loving, mannered and truly just wants to be around her people. Upon being returned, staff were told that Marley was the worst dog they had ever had. Marley never deserved that label and has proven it time and time again.
Marley came in overweight, unhealthy and showing some severe anxiety. She has lost weight, shown how much she loves adventures and besides just wanting to see people, we haven’t seen any signs of anxiety.
Marley loves adventure! She is always up for the next walk with anyone willing to take her and she has done our trail hike with our dog walkers numerous times. Marley is truly the sweetest girl who has been around all sorts of people from infants and up, and never had issues. She has encountered quite a few dogs and doesn’t mind them but like always requires a proper meet and greet. She is quite intrigued by cats too. She has shown success in certain areas since being returned and now it is her turn for a true success story in her new forever home.
