Cherryland Humane Society

PET INFORMATION:
Name: Oreo and Jasmine
Info: Male, 4 years old and Female 3 years old
Days At the Shelter: 49 days

Oreo: Oreo (bonded to Jasmine)
Oreo is a handsome, big black cat with a white spot on his chest and a personality that’s a bit more independent-but equally special. He’s the kind of cat who chooses his person and forms a deep, meaningful bond. When he decides it’s time for attention, you’ll know you’ve been chosen-and it’s worth the wait. Oreo thrives in a calmer environment and would do best with older, respectful kids who understand his need for space. He’s not a fan of too much handling and prefers affection on his own terms. Like Jasmine, he may not get along with other cats outside of his bond with her, and he hasn’t been introduced to dogs. He enjoys batting around mouse toys and keeping himself entertained. Oreo is also on a urinary tract diet, so his future home will need to continue supporting his health in that way. Together with Jasmine, Oreo creates a beautifully balanced pair-her outgoing, affectionate nature perfectly complements his quiet, independent spirit. They’re looking for a home where they can stay together and be loved for exactly who they are.

Jasmine: Meet Jasmine (bonded to Oreo)
Jasmine is a stunning, big tabby girl with a heart just as large as her beautiful striped coat. She’s the definition of a love bug-super affectionate, incredibly sweet, and always ready to shower her humans with attention. Jasmine truly loves everyone she meets and is wonderful with kids of all ages, making her an easy fit for a family home. While she adores people, Jasmine prefers to keep her feline circle small-she’s happiest with her best friend Oreo and may not enjoy the company of other cats. Playtime is one of her favorite times, especially when stuffy ball toys are involved! She’s the kind of cat who will happily curl up beside you and make every day a little brighter.

We are an independent, 501-C, non profit organization. CHS is dependent on donations, fundraising activities, estates, planned giving, memorials and occasional grants for operation. Visit our available pets online at cherrylandhumane.org

Charlevoix Humane Society

Well hello there!

The name’s Gypsy and it’s just so great to meet you! I’m a 3 year old Shepherd mix who found my way here after being in a giant facility downstate where there were way too many dogs. The nice staff here at at the shelter opened their doors to me and gave me a nice place to stay, and I have to say, I like it much better here. The staff here tells me I’m “quite the character” whatever that means.

I’m the fastest girl around and love speeding through the backyard, sometimes I even go so fast I forget where I’m going and have found myself crashing into something or other. That’s okay though, I get right back up and I’m ready to run again! My dream human would be someone who is very active, like me. I’d love to go for walks and hikes and I’d even give swimming in the lake a shot if they let me.

My past is a bit of a mystery, but what I do know is that I do not like other dogs and have a high prey drive so no cats either, so a home where I am the only pet is best for me. I am mostly housebroken and they tell me I do a great job of keeping my kennel clean. Stop by and say hello to me, and maybe we can start our very own adventure together!

If you’d like to meet him, please stop by the Charlevoix Area Humane Society anytime Monday-Saturday between 12-5. You can set up an appointment by calling the Charlevoix Area Humane Society at 231-582-6774.

TC Paw Cat Rescue

Meet JACK

He was found as a stray and taken in by a kind family. They loved him and had planned to keep him but Jack also loved their exotic birds! Sadly, that combination did not work, so they brought him to TC Paw.

Jack is a beautiful big boy with a long silky coat. He has it all – outgoing, lovable, gentle. He loves attention and of course, food. He is just a great guy, pretty easy going, and
should adapt well in a new home. Jack is 1 1/2 years old.

If you would like to meet Jack, fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire, and a TC Paw volunteer will contact you.

Also, TC Paws has their annual fundraiser coming up in a few weeks… The Cat Lady Fashion Show. They will have a live fashion show, live music (featuring Chris Sterr and Levi Britton), a huge silent action, Delicious food and a cash bar. It will be held at the Milliken auditorium/Dennos Center. More details can be found at CatLadyFashionShow.com.

Little Traverse Bay Humane Society

Hi, my name is Buck!

I’m a gentle and loving 4-year-old German Shepherd looking for my forever home. I love attention and will happily lean in for pets-I might even lift my paw to ask for more! I enjoy playing fetch, but I’m also a laid-back guy who loves a cozy spot to relax. If you’d like to meet me, stop by or call my friends at LTBHS. I hope to see you soon!

The Little Traverse Bay Humane Society is at 1300 West Conway Road. Open Monday–Saturday | 10am–5pm. Online at LTBHS.com. They are a private, no kill shelter serving Emmet County.

AuSable Valley Animal Shelter

Aloha – I’m Hula! Just like a Hula-Hoop, I’m all about movement, fun, and keeping the good vibes spinning!

I’m a one-year-old medium mixed breed girl with a heart of gold and enough energy to power a small city. I’ve been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and I’m up to date on my heartworm testing!

I’ll be honest… I’m still in my “teenage” phase, which means I’m a big, goofy puppy in a grown-up body. I’m still figuring out my manners and learning that “personal space” is a real thing, but I promise I’m a fast learner who lives for a “good girl” and a tasty treat.

I’m looking for an active family who loves to get outside and move as much as I do. Whether it’s hiking, running, or a marathon session of fetch, I’m your girl! Because I’m still learning my puppy boundaries and can be a bit of a physical player, I’d do best in a home with teenagers or older children who can handle my wiggle-butt enthusiasm. I might do well living with another dog who can match my energy, but I wouldn’t do well living with cats, they are way too fun to chase. If you have the patience to keep teaching me the ropes, I have all the love in the world to give you in return.

I’m looking for a loyal partner to join your adventures. Come meet me, and let’s see if we’re a perfect match! If you have questions about me, reach out to my friends at AVASCares2@gmail.com, or by phone at 989-348-4117.

Cheboygan County Humane Society

You will be able to meet Stella soon!
Stella is a 6-year-old spayed female Staffordshire Terrier/Lab mix who recently came to us here at CCHS after her previous landlord would not allow dogs of her breed. Despite the change, she’s a sweet girl who is ready to start fresh and find a loving forever home.
About Stella:
• 6 years old
• Spayed & microchipped
• Staffordshire Terrier / Lab mix
• Has lived with other dogs and cats
• Would do best with older children who understand dog boundaries

Stella is an energetic pup who would love a home where she can run, play, and then relax while getting spoiled by her family. She has so much love to give and can’t wait to meet her future people!

Stella is NOT available for adoption just YET. She still needs to finish receiving her vaccinations, but we wanted to introduce her so everyone can keep an eye out for when she becomes available!

Stay tuned for updates on this sweet girl!
