Singo to golf…. and a lot in between!

No matter your hobbies, you’ll find something fun to do this week. From trying out a new restaurant at Boyne City Restaurant Week to planting in your backyard, golf to Singo… the fun is waiting for you!

 

The courses are opening and now is the time to get your gear ready to go. Odawa Casino’s 2nd annual Swing in the Season golf social Saturday, April 20, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Grab your golf pals and head to Odawa and meet and mingle with representatives of golf courses in the surrounding area. See what’s happening on the courses this season and what new gear is in. Win free rounds of golf and check your swing with a golf monitor from the Petoskey Golf Center. There is no cost to attend this, but donations will be accepted to benefit The First Tee of Northern Michigan.

If you’re looking for something new… Boyne Appetit’, Restaurant Week in Boyne City is going on now through Sunday.  This celebration of EPIC FOODS encompasses the restaurants and food retailers in Boyne City and neighboring towns. Great music is coming to Harbor Springs on Saturday evening with Michigan Emmy award-winning songwriter Kitty Donohoe performs at the Harbor Springs Performing Arts Center Saturday April 20th at 7pm. Kitty was born into a large, creative family outside of Detroit and has been ‘making up’ songs for as long as she can remember. Describing her music as ‘folky, bluesy, Irishy, American, Canadianish’, she draws from her roots to create music that is uniquely her own ~ music that’s ‘haunting, melodic and literate’.  Tickets available at the door or on sale here.

Singo…. It’s like Bingo only with songs and it is so fun!  Saturday night, you can play at the Backlot in Charlevoix to benefit the Charlevoix Class of 2024 Senior Party. The fun starts at 6pm. So grab your friends and plan on lots of laughs, singing and even a little dancing. Who can sit down when you hear the Macarana?

Earth Day is Monday, April 22nd. And you can help protect the planet by planting some trees. Grass River Natural Area and Ethanology Distillation have teamed up for a Earth Day Eve tree and shrub fundraiser on Sunday, April 21st from 2-5pm at 127 Ames Street in Elk Rapids. Grass River Natural Area will be on-site offering conifer, hardwood, and shrub saplings. A donation to the non-profit is suggested per tree and shrub- 100% of the funds will go to GRNA. We all play a role in preserving our ecosystem, it starts by planting more trees and making environmentally sustainable decisions. Celebrate earth day by planting a tree or shrub.
